A clue describes groups of filled cells. It does not count the empty cells before or after a group.
A clue of 2 1 means two filled cells, at least one empty cell, then one filled cell. Rows are read left to right; columns are read top to bottom.
On a five-cell line, clue 2 2 fits only as ■■·■■. The empty cell between the groups takes the fifth position; joining the groups would create the wrong clue, 4.
A cell belongs to both a row and a column. Carry each confirmed fill or empty cell into the crossing line before deciding the next move.
A 3×3 example with full lines and a 1 1 clue. Its center cell must be empty.
A 10×10 example for combining full lines with overlapping groups.
A 7×7 example whose clues allow two grids. The answer page identifies the four cells that can vary.
Add the clue numbers and one empty cell between neighboring groups. If the total equals the line length, there is only one arrangement. For example, 1 4 uses all six cells as ■·■■■■.
A group of 5 in a six-cell line can start in only two places. Positions 2–5 are filled in both, so those four cells are safe before you know either end.
Once a run reaches its clue length, a neighboring cell cannot extend that same run. Check whether a gap is required before the next group; do not fill every remaining cell by habit.
The archive contains 60 numbered picture puzzles, with stored solutions from 3×3 to 10×10. Every displayed grid is checked against its archived row and column clues.
Fifty-two clue sets have one valid grid. Eight allow more than one: levels 18, 28, 38, 40, 43, 55, 56, and 60. Those pages distinguish the stored picture from cells the clues alone cannot determine.
The checks establish archive consistency and mathematical validity. They do not establish that the numbering or pictures match every current app version. SolvedWise is an independent reference, not the game publisher.

Compare the picture, grid size, and both clue sets. If any differ, browse for the matching picture instead of assuming the same number identifies the same puzzle.
